Tips for using Daaisy

·       If you don’t know your block and section number, give Daaisy your street address and ask for your block and section number. Then make further queries using that block and section number.

·       Using the terms ‘division’ and ‘suburb’ in searches get different responses since some divisions (like Gungahlin) are also suburbs. Make sure you know which you are inquiring about. If you don’t, ask Daaisy to explain the difference.

·       If complex questions give you overly complex answers, break your question down into more specific questions. Start with your block or blocks, then build on that:

My address is 19  Johnstone Street Weston. What is my block and section? > In what zone is this block? > How big is that block? > Are there any overlays or complications with the block? > What other rules and policies apply to that block? > What is involved in doing a dual occupancy on that block?

If in doubt, restate your block and section in the query.

Daaisy is a conversational AI agent grounded on the ACT's land and planning body of knowledge. This means you can ask questions about any planning related rules contained in ACT law, subordinate law or policy. You can ask about rules, definitions, relationships between rules and geospatial questions about specific blocks of land.

Daaisy is grounded (or focused) on the ACT land and planning body of knowledge. All planning laws and rules that apply in the ACT is where Daaisy looks for answers. The computing power for  searching comes from one of the nominated LLMs (Chat GPT, Gemini or others) but Daaisy only draws substantive information from the grounded body of knowledge.

Unfortunately not. If you need larger packages of geospatial or other data, you should contact Urban Intelligence at operations@urbanintelligence.com.au

Not yet. Daaisy has been designed to help you navigate and interrogate the planning rules that apply in the ACT. But Urban Intelligence is working on another tool that will help you lodge your DAs. This tool will be called DA Assist, and will have Daaisy in the background helping you understand and apply current planning rules.

Yes, for the moment. Daaisy is available free while we test and refine the stable version.

Yes. Daaisy is grounded only in the ACT land and planning body of knowledge. So it cannot inadvertently give you information from other sources. But, as when you discuss issues with people, questions might be quite broad, imprecise or open ended, prompting Daaisy to give an imprecise answer.

Our suggestion is keep asking very specific questions.

Yes absolutely. Please send any suggestions/issues to systems@urbanintelligence.com.au

This is a glitch the UI team is working on. Almost all data in ACTMAPi is accessible by Daaisy, but Daaisy is still learning how best to bring rule based and geospatial data together.

See Daaisy search tips - the best way to avoid this glitch is to find your block and section number, and then ask specific questions about that block.

The ACT Government stores leases and land titles information on a system that is not fully accessible. This mean we cannot include the data in Daaisy in a systematic way.

Ask Daaisy a question like this "If I am preparing a complex DA, what consultant reports will I need?". Daaisy will give you a good sense of the likely number of reports required.

Soon Urban Intelligence will launch a DA lodgement assistant (DA Assist). It will guide you through the DA process and help you understand what consultants, reports and other information you need.  We will also be able to refer you to the relevant consultants.
