Six Months of Innovation: Our Half-Year Milestone! 🚀 🎂
Time flies when you’re building the future of urban strategy. Urban Intelligence is officially six months old! 🎈 To celebrate our half-year milestone, we wanted to take a moment to look back at the incredible ground we’ve covered.
Our friends at Gemini even helped us capture the journey so far in the vibrant visual below—a snapshot of the milestones, the growth, and the community that have defined our first 180 days. 📸✨
Reflecting on the Journey So Far 🏢🛠️
It’s been a whirlwind of activity, and we couldn't be prouder of what our small but mighty team has achieved:
- Foundation & Identity: We officially established Urban Intelligence and launched our brand and digital home at www.urbanintelligence.com.au
- Growing the Brains Trust: We’ve expanded our core team by recruiting three exceptionally talented data scientists and coders 🧠💻 who are already pushing the boundaries of what we can do as humans and our tech can do.
- Product Milestones: We successfully launched Daaisy, our flagship AI agent, and we are now in the final countdown to the launch of the first step of DA Assist 🏗️ which will integrate with Daaisy to make lodging DAs faster and cheaper.
- Building Capability: We had the privilege of delivering capability-building training for 100+ Commonwealth public servants, in clear writing, data literacy, critical thinking and strategic thinking.
- Site intelligence: We leaned into our analytical and strategic planning roots by preparing a critical needs analysis for a community housing project. 🏘️📋
- Social impact: We developed and delivered thought leadership about options for the viability of ACT Clubs, and with other experts the role of AI in decision making, especially in land use planning
- Data Strategy: We strengthened the digital foundations of a regional council by designing a comprehensive data asset register survey, helping that organisation better understand and unlock the hidden value of their information.
- Regional Intelligence: We took our analysis north, preparing a detailed comparative profile of five local council areas in Queensland to provide the data-driven insights needed for smarter regional growth. 📋
- The Power of Partnership: None of this would be possible without our incredible collaborators. 🤝 A huge thank you to the ACT Property Council, Gyde Consulting, Clubs ACT, Delos Delta and Ethos CRS.

- Daaisy is Urban Intelligence’s conversational AI agent grounded in the ACT land and planning body of knowledge, with access to key geospatial data too.
What’s New with Daaisy? 🤖 ⚡
We’re not just looking back; we’re moving fast. Our AI agent, Daaisy, just got a significant power-up to make your workflow smarter and smoother:
- Uploading documents capability: Users can now upload documents directly into the Daaisy interface and keep working 📤⚙️. Daaisy has the power to interpret documents such as ACT leases or title documents. So Daaisy can find, comprehend and contextualise ACT lease purpose clauses, which is crucial for interpreting lease rights in the ACT. ✦🦢
- Instant Document Intelligence: You can now upload any document within a session and query it immediately. This is a game-changer for workflows like the DA Assist Crown Lease analysis, where you need answers from complex documents in seconds.
- A Self-Updating Library: The BOK (planning documentation library) is now automated 📚🔄, ensuring the most current legal, policy, and regulatory information is always at your fingertips through engaging with Daaisy. If you do spot errors, let us know and we will fix them immediately.
- Spatial optimisation: Some upgrades have been made to our ‘data core’ to improve basic site facts and geospatial information. This means Daaisy can now understand both text-based information, and details databases, all from one query.
